Last week, the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) successfully held its General Assembly in Luxembourg — a key forum for shaping the future of the architectural profession in Europe.
Chaired by ACE President Ruth Schagemann, the Assembly brought together the Executive Board and nearly 80 delegates from across Europe 🇪🇺 to strengthen our collective voice and advance ACE’s advocacy efforts on behalf of the profession.
Delegates addressed a range of strategic policy priorities that are central to the work of architects across Europe, including:
- 🏛️ The EU Single Market Strategy
- 📑 Revision of the Public Procurement Directive
- 🌿 The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and broader sustainability initiatives
- 🏠 Affordable housing
- 💻 Digitalisation of building permits
- 🎭 The EU Culture Compass
The Assembly was a valuable opportunity for members to exchange insights, build consensus, and reinforce the essential role of architecture in delivering a sustainable, high-quality built environment throughout Europe.
